
RUMFORD - Mr. Leo Blouin, 77, died unexpectedly Sunday June 17, 2012 at his residence in South Rumford. He was born in Rumford, Maine on September 17, 1934 a son of Elizear “Henry” and Jeanine (Robert) Blouin. He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford with the class of 1954. He served in the US Army 229th Signal Corps from 1957 to 1963. He worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford for over 41 years retiring in 1996 from the Treatment Plant. Following his retirement he enjoyed family and the outdoors; he enjoyed his fishing and hunting trips at his camp in Coplin Plantation, four wheeling around home, camping and snowmobiling. In the winter he enjoyed reading history books, especially about the Civil War. Leo was a member of the Rumford Historical Society and enjoyed sharing the history of Mt. Zircon with anyone who was interested. He was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior St. Athanasius St John Church in Rumford. He was well known for his garden that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Leo was married in Rumford, Maine on June 8, 1968 to Janette West who survives of South Rumford. Other survivors include a daughter Carol Jones and husband Trevor of Gorham along with their children Collin and Aaron; a son David of South Rumford; a brother Arthur Blouin and wife Arlene of Rumford; a sister Simone Suggs of Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Roland Blouin, Maurice Blouin, Germaine Blouin, Lucienne Bernard, Sylvio Blouin, and Gabrielle Casey. BLOUIN - Mr. Leo Blouin, 77, died in Rumford on Sunday June 17, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church. Interment will be in St John Cemetery, Rumford. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the MEADER & SON FUNERAL HOME 3 Franklin St. Rumford, ME.
